I met Abbie a longtime ago – in childhood actually – but this is the first time I have had the opportunity to photograph her and her beautiful family. Abbie is an amazing local makeup artist and has a wealth of knowledge on hair care, so I have watched her business grow via social media. We met at the beautiful Maclay Flats in Missoula, MT for a springtime family session.

Abbie and her husband Matt have a beautiful daughter and another baby on the way, so naturally they wanted to document this time in their life.

Abbie is great to work with because she is is so sweet, very comfortable in front of the camera, and so genuine in her interactions with her husband and daughter. I loved the variety of backdrops that McClay’s flat offers. It has anything from birch trees, to waterfront images to stunning views of the mountains that surround the Missoula Valley.

Abbie and Matt’s daughter Aaliyah was a bit shy of me at first. However, that provided a sweet opportunity to catch some sweet mommy-and-me moments and some fun interactions between her and her father.

My favorite moments during this session were the moments between Abbie and Matt when they were able to snuggle together and just allow Aaliyah to play in the grass. Take a peek at our Maclay Flats Missoula, MT family session here!
